Dr. Kelvin Khisa

Dr. Khisa is a circular economy expert who specializes in developing and implementing resource use efficiency and pollution prevention strategies. He is experienced in leading circular economy projects including resource recovery, the extension of resource use, and the reduction of disposal through strengthened resource sharing and reuse.

Additionally, he is dedicated to supporting product design for durability, reparability, upgradability, and recycling, in order to promote sustainable business practices. Dr. Khisa’s ultimate goal is to enable Kenyan businesses to abandon the wasteful linear economy and instead embrace the resource-efficient circular economy. He has collaborated with the Technical University of Denmark to pilot a successful 3-year project aimed at developing mutually profitable links between companies through the identification of unused/ underutilized resources.

This project has paved the way for the development of an Eco-Industrial Park framework in Kenya, which will promote low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially inclusive industrial zones. Dr. Khisa holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Policy from the University of Nairobi.
